Presentation

Times are hard, and a miller sells his daughter to the Devil. Protected by her own purity, she escapes his clutches, but loses her hands. Travelling far away from her family, she meets the goddess of water, a sweet gardener, and a prince in his castle.

Inspired by Olivier Py's The Young Girl, the Devil, and the Mill, and loosely based on a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, this film is a long journey towards the light, and a tribute to drawing.

Come meet Sébastien Laudenbach, director, on 10 July

Odd Jobs in Kinshasa
Samurel, the hero of a 9-episode series, leads us along with his friend Yasmine on an exploration of the odd jobs that make Kinshasa such a lively and vibrant city. Through portraits of a voltigeur, a newsagent, a camiste, or an egg dealer, this film invites us to discover the biggest French-speaking megalopolis in the world.
