Presentation

  • In Plato's Phaedrus, Socrates establishes a link between erotic madness and poetic madness. By calling the muses in the Jardin de la Vierge, we want to put this intuition to the test. Calling the Muse features a Poet suffering from writer's block, who calls on the Muses to improvise a poem right before the audience. But instead of the ancient divinities, an unlikely muse answers his call. Under her guidance (at times cajoling, at times threatening), a new voice emerges, leading the Poet towards unknown horizons.

    Carita Abell
Carita Abell is a queer artist of Afro-Caribbean descent. An intrepid warrior, she creates rituals which blend eroticism and shamanism, in which the body becomes a place of inversion and transformation.

    Vanasay Khamphommala
First and foremost a musician, Vanasay Khamphommala trained as an actor and worked as a dramatist, actor, and performer, while working towards a PhD. He is also a singer.
