Presentation

Presented by Marie Labory (ARTE journal)
In presence of Éric Ruf, general administrator of the Comédie-Française and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi

Valeria Bruni Tedeschi gives a free, faithful, and modern adaptation of Chekhov's play, the poignant chronicle of a life that shatters dreams. Clear and heartbreaking, this version of Three Sisters highlights the play's modern quality, while remaining fundamentally faithful to Chekhov's text. With its inspired direction and its actors coming together as one in the beautiful and timeless setting of a large country house, this intense story of disillusionment hits right where it hurts.

Éric Ruf
A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des Métiers d'arts Olivier de Serres and of the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, Éric Ruf has been general administrator of the Comédie-Française since August 2014. An actor, director, and scenographer, he joined the House of Molière as a pensionnaire on the 1st September 1993, became its 498th sociétaire on the 1st January 1998, and honorary sociétaire after his nomination as general administrator.
