  • Built in the 14th century, the Notre-Dame-la-Principale church became the Chapelle des Pénitents blancs at the beginning of the 19th century, when it was transformed into a Dominican convent. As the brotherhood died out, it is now a theatre allocated to the Festival d'Avignon and the Institut supérieur des techniques du spectacle. Its closed space is particularly liked for its intimate feel (164 seats). This is where the staging of contemporary texts at the Festival, with Théâtre Ouvert, began in the 1960s. Since 2014, the Chapelle des Pénitents blancs welcomes a cycle of shows for young people.

    Unnumbered seats.
