In a country at war due to religious fanaticism, Lucia is waiting for her fiancé Zeck, who has anounced that he is returning to the battlefields. She lives in a ruined temple with her mother and her brother, who has decided not to take up arms. She was raped by a soldier from the enemy camp and is pregnant. On the advice of her mother she hides her pregnancy. Zeck arrives, triumphant and laden with gifts. He also brings the head of an enemy soldier he has decapitated. Wedding preparations are underway, with days being lived out in parallel worlds. One is real, violent and about survival in a country at war, and the other is imaginary, ghostlike, perceived by Lucia, where in the otherworld, a dead person communicates with the living. The ghost is Ibrim, the father of the child who is going to be born...
