Lumière d'Août is a writers' collective and a theatre company based in Rennes, western France. There's no common aesthetic line, rather a line of conduct, a desire to share written works with the public, whether for stage or not. The act of sharing may take the form of readings or plays, publications or performances, cabarets or an urban poster campaign. For the Festival, the six authors, along with two actors, take the audience on a journey in double time inside their texts, combining reading, spatial conception and performance. Their aim is to bring attention to the issue of writing within their collective, to their texts, the way they are developed, emails they exchange, questions and spaces which can trigger the act of writing.
