Presentation

“Dance isn't a language, it's dance. Sound isn't a language, it's sound. Vulnerability and magic are the essence of creation.” A movement can produce a sound; a vibration can trigger a gesture. Does an impulse always have consequences? Sir Alice and Cristina Kristal Rizzo open a poetic space to play with our senses by putting aside meaning for a while.

Sir Alice
Alice Daquet released her first records in 2003, becoming Sir Alice. She soon came to use video and photography in her musical installations. A graduate in cognitive science and neuroscience, she conducts research and experiments on perception and musical cognition, in parallel to her creations and to her study of counterpoint and orchestration.

Cristina Kristal Rizzo
After training at the Martha Graham School and at the Merce Cunningham and Trisha Brown studios, Cristina Kristal Rizzo co-founded the Kinkaleri collective, before breaking away from it in 2007 to focus on her experimental research in dance and choreography. A writer and performer of ambulatory forms, performance-readings and conference-shows, she likes to build bridges between visual and aural perception.
